An Escape Game is an activity during which you will be locked in a room for 60 minutes and you will have to complete a mission.

In order to do so you will have to solve different puzzles with your team, usually composed of 3 to 5 people.

Your team must communicate, cooperate and search every corner of the room! This is your chance to making a mess in a room without having to tidy it up: Come to the rescue of Professor Lock, headmaster of our detective school, and solve our mysteries.

His missions often take him far and wide, and he is counting on you to, his new recruits, to keep the school running smoothly whilst he is away.

The Troyes Lock Academy currently has 2 mysteries. Our Rooms Escape are both set up in the same world: Professor Lock’s detective school.

You will find the Troyes Academy at the address: 5 rue Viardin, 10000 Troyes, France.

Our Escape Game consists of a series of puzzles you need to solve under 60 minutes in order to elucidate our mystery.

Lock Academy Mysteries – Escape Game Troyes

Designed like a giant Cluedo, our first mystery is called A Near-Perfect Crime. In an case worthy of a detective novel, investigate the murder of Dean Doyle, Prof Lock’s best friend and mentor. Find the culprit, the murder weapon and the motive.

In our Little Miss Lock escape room, investigate the disappearance of Professor Lock's missing daughter. Look for clues in her bedroom to understand what happened to her. Twists and adrenaline guaranteed!

If you prefer an outdoor mystery, our treasure hunt Operation Mindfall and Magic Portal are made for you. Investigate in the historic centre of Troyes and save the world in 90 minutes!

Our team can provide the welcome, mysteries and clues in our mysteries both in French and in English.

Our investigations are suitable for all types of players and don’t require previous knowledge in Escape Games to be solved. With your team of family, friends or colleagues, no need to be a Cluedo expert: teamwork, observational skills, a bit of logic and your good mood are all the skills you will need!

Professor Lock is looking out for your team and can he will send hints and clues when needed. Cameras and microphones placed in the room allow him to track your progress. No footage, video or audio, is recorded in the room escape.

Please note that puzzles can be difficult for children under 15 years old. For this reason we require children from 9 to 15 to be accompanied by at least two adults per Escape Room. Unfortunately children under 9 years old can not partake in our mystery rooms.

We aim for the best immersion of players in our mysteries and the most enjoyable game possible. Thus the use of cameras, mobile phones or other recording devices is strictly prohibited.

Yes. However you can rest assured that we monitor the game closely throughout your whole experience. Should any problem occur regarding your safety we will intervene immediately and open the Live Escape Room.
Moreover a security push button is installed at the entrance of each our rooms, allowing you to exit in case of emergency.

Lock Academy, Escape Game in Troyes is designed for everyone: families (with children above 9), groups of friends, Team building days for businesses…

All it takes to solve our puzzles is good communication with your team, a bit of logic and observation. No specific knowledge in math or astronomy is required!

In Troyes the mystery ‘A Near Perfect Crime’ is accessible for people with reduced mobility. If a wheelchair user is part of your team, we kindly ask you to let us know in advance, in a comment when doing your booking. This way we can set up the room slightly differently to optimise your experience!

We recommend teams to be of 3 to 5 players for our game rooms. A smaller number of players might make it difficult to solve all the puzzles in the allocated time. On the other hand more than 5 players might make you feel cramped in the room.

Thus we recommend a limit of 5 maximum players for 'A Near Perfect Crime' and 'Little Miss Lock'. If you wish to to play in a team of more than 5 nonetheless, we offer you to book your mystery for 5 players and pay for the 6th player upon arrival at our facility.

Our treasure hunt Operation Mindfall and Magic Portal can be played by 2 to 5 players and can also be played by two teams in competition for up to 10 players total.

We require for children participating in the Escape Games at the Lock Academy Troyes to be aged at least 9 years old. Children between 9 and 15 years old need to be accompanied by at least 2 adults per team.

Unfortunately we are unable to welcome groups consisting of children only, nor groups of children under 15 accompanied by one adult only. For safety reasons young children and babies are not allowed to partake the game.

Why? Our mysteries are primarily designed for adults and could be too difficult for children. When accompanied by adults, children can search the room whilst grown ups work on understanding puzzles. Alone, children could be discouraged by the difficulty of certain riddles. On another note our Escape Rooms contain many fragile objects and mechanisms. Thus we kindly ask adults accompanying younger children to supervise them closely.

In the Lock Academy Troyes the mystery ‘A Near Perfect Crime’ is accessible for people with reduced mobility. If a wheelchair user is part of your team, we kindly ask you to let us know in advance, in a comment when doing your booking. This way we can set up the room slightly differently to optimise your experience! We recommend that at least one able bodied person is part of your team to ensure you can reach all the available clues in the Escape Room.

Our treasure hunt Operation Mindfall and Magic Portal are also suitable for people with reduced mobility. This mystery takes place in the streets of Troyes city center, and includes around 25 minutes of walking over a 90 minute game. There are no stairs or areas which are inaccessible to wheelchair users or people with reduced mobility.

If you are pregnant or have a heart condition you can partake in our Escape Rooms without a problem.

Our mysteries do not contain neither intense physical activity nor important jump scares.

Our treasure hunt Operation Mindfall and Magic Portal are also suitable for pregnant women. This mystery takes place in the streets of Troyes city center, and includes around 25 minutes of walking over a 90 minute game. There are benches and places to sit throughout the route.

Some of our mysteries contain visual and light effects (strobe or pulsating lights) that can affect players suffering from epilepsy or photosensitivity.

If would like some more information, please do not hesitate to write us in advance, so that we can best prepare your experience at the Lock Academy.

Professor Lock will be following your investigation closely and can send you audio and/or visual clues to help you. Therefore we recommend that you have at least one player in your team without hearing or visual impairment.

Dying to solve one of our thrilling mysteries but you are only two people in your team? You can book Little Miss Lock or A Near Perfect Crime for 3 people (which is the minimum we require for a booking) and still try to take up the challenge by the two of you.

Please note that in this case the mystery might be a bit more difficult! You’ll need to be very organised to solve the different riddles and a bit of previous experience with Escape Rooms would be useful.

You can also take part in our treasure hunt Operation Mindfall or Magic Portal (2 to 5 players)!

If one of your teammates cannot be present the day of the Escape Game, no problem! Invite another person to join your team – spots in a team at the Lock Academy are not assigned to a specific person.

However please note that we would be unable to provide a refund if you have one less player in your team.

The more, the merrier... and the cheaper! When you book on the Lock Academy website - Escape Game Troyes, the price per person decreases depending on the number of participants:

• 3 players: €28/player
• 4 players: €25/player
• 5 players: €22/player

If you want to play Operation Mindfall or Magic Portal :

• 2 players: €25/player
• 3 players: €20/player
• 4 players: €18/player
• 5 players: €16/player

Yes, you can add a player without a problem ! No need to email us beforehand you will simply pay for the extra player on the day of your session. Our recommended maximum is 5 players per team. However, even if not ideal, we allow teams up to 6 players.

Come with you additional player(s) and upon arrival you can make the pay the supplement at our reception desk.

• from 2 to 3 players: additional €10 (outdoor)
• from 3 to 4 players: additional €16 (indoor), additional €12 (outdoor)
• from 4 to 5 players: additional €10 (indoor), additional €8 (outdoor)
• from 5 to 6 players: additional €22 (indoor), additional €16 (outdoor)

We prepare your visit at the Lock Academy Escape Rooms quite in advance, and each session requires specific organisation to ensure that you and your team have the best customised experience. Therefore, once your booking has been confirmed and payment has been made, we do not accept cancellations and cannot provide a refund.

However you can postpone the date of your Escape Room up to one week prior to the date of your original booking by emailing us at troyes@lockacademy.com. Please specify your new desired date and time slot in your email. You can look at all the time slots and rooms still available by visiting our booking page.

We will not accept postponing or changes in your booking that are asked less than one week before your original booking date. For identity verification reasons, we kindly ask you to make requests to modify your reservation with the same email address used for the original booking.

Thinking of gifting an Escape Game to a friend or loved one ? We offer gift vouchers to purchase directly on our website. Your gift voucher can be used for 1 entire year after purchase and recipients can pick from all our mysteries available at the Lock Academy Troyes and the day that best suits them!

You had picked the mystery you wanted and the best date for you. You started the process of booking your session, left the booking page and when you went back to it, your desired time slots had disappeared?

When you select a time slot and start booking, this time slot will be reserved for you for the next 30 minutes. Thus if you leave the page in the process of booking it might not be available anymore.

We recommend not to leave the booking page in the middle of the process. However if it has happened to you, we recommend that you wait for 30 minutes, then your desired time slot should be available again.

In case you meet any other problem during the booking process, try deleting your browsers’ cookies or try using another browser.

The Lock Academy Troyes, which offers the mysteries Little Miss Lock, A Near Perfect Crime, Magic Portal and Operation Mindfall is located at the 5 rue Viardin, in Troyes’ city center.

Our facility is accessible:

Crime doesn’t wait ! And so don’t our team : The Lock Academy Troyes is open from 10am to 10pm or midnight (friday and saturday). The last session for investigations starts at 8pm or 10pm.

Once you have booked your session and received a confirmation email (within one hour after your booking), we’ll be waiting for you and your team at our facility at the Lock Academy Troyes.

You will be welcomed by one of Professor Lock’s assistants and their biggest smile.

Your overall time at the Lock Academy will last about 1h30 (including 1h for the mystery).

Here is an example of how timing would go for a booking at 4pm:

• 4pm: arrival of the complete team at the Lock Academy Troyes’ reception. Welcome drink offered.
• 4:05pm: a member of our team presents the mystery you will tackle on that day
• 4:15pm Beginning of your session. Professor Lock will monitor your progress in the investigation and can send you clues through a screen in the room.
• 5:15pm: End of your mystery. Debriefing of the best moments with your Apprentice detective/Game Master
• 5:30pm: End of your experience at the Lock Academy… until the next mystery!

For a fully enjoyed experience we kindly ask you to be punctual, and arrive at the time specified on your booking. No need to arrive more than 15 minutes early.

The Lock Academy Troyes has packages specifically designed for businesses in order to best organise a full or part Team Building Escape Game day:

• The Event Pack offers a welcome with a large choice of drinks and sweets, mystery solved in teams (1h), a board game gifted to each player and Certificate Detective diplomas for everyone. We will also print a team photo in HD.
• The Switch pack offers a welcome with a large choice of drinks and sweets, two mysteries solved in teams, a mug and a board game gifted to each player and Certificate Detective diplomas for everyone. We will also print a team photo in HD.

This is one of the advantages offered when you opt of a Team Building Package. Once you have confirmed the date and pack you want, you will receive a quote from our business relations team. We will then hold the session for you up to 48 hours later.

When you send us back the signed quote, it acts as a contract between your company and the Lock Academy Troyes, and commits you to pay for our service (via bank transfer, cheque, credit card…) before the day of your session, in accordance with our General Terms and Conditions.

For customers booking a standard reservation, pre-booking a time slot is not possible.

When using one of our Team Building Packs, payment must be made at the latest on the day when your companies teams arrive. Lock Academy Toulouse reserves the right to deny access to the game rooms if payment had not been made.

For companies opting for a standard booking, payment is required when booking on our website.

We are currently unable to offer you a customisation of the mysteries in Troyes.

The kind of invoice that your receive depends on the kind of reservation you made:

• Standard bookings on our website will be offered to download an invoice at the end of the booking process, that will match the information submitted in the online booking form. You will also receive the invoice as an email attachement in your booking confirmation (sent in the hour following your booking).
• Team Building Packages will receive the invoice once you sent us the signed quote.

In case of misplaced invoice, please fill out our contact form, stating the date and time of your reserved mystery, as well as the number of rooms and players.
